Profile

Scorpio Tankers Inc.STNGIndustrials

Owns product tankers that carry refined fuels and crude oil worldwide, earning freight through spot-oriented pools, direct voyages and longer charters. Its LR2, MR and Handymax fleet is concentrated in cyclical tanker markets and relies on related-party commercial and technical managers.

Transports refined petroleum products and crude oil worldwide with LR2, MR and Handymax tankers. LR2s and MRs serve long-haul and regional routes across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. Gulf; Handymax vessels focus on the Baltic and North Sea.

Employs ships through spot-oriented Scorpio Pools, direct voyages, and time or bareboat charters. Pooling similar vessels improves scheduling and utilization, while longer charters add contracted cash flow. Recent fleet activity includes vessel sales and product-tanker and crude-carrier newbuilding commitments.

Most operating exposure remains tied to spot freight rates. Commercial and technical management is provided by related Scorpio entities; results depend on vessel availability, fuel and drydock costs, trade routes, customer demand, and maritime safety and emissions rules.
