Theriva Biologics

Develops oncolytic adenoviruses for difficult-to-treat solid tumors, centered on VCN-01, a systemically administered virus designed to selectively replicate in tumor cells, degrade protective tumor stroma, and support co-administered therapies and an antitumor immune response. Its clinical work spans metastatic pancreatic cancer, retinoblastoma, and head-and-neck cancer, with preclinical VCN-X programs extending the platform.

Coordinates corporate functions from Maryland and oncology research and clinical development from Spain. Virus-process development occurs in Spain, while clinical and prospective commercial manufacturing, release testing, and much of clinical execution depend on external CDMOs, CROs, sites, investigators, licensors, and academic hospitals.

No products are approved or commercially sold; product revenue requires clinical progress, regulatory approval, manufacturing, and commercialization capability. The funded strategy is concentrated in VCN-01, while future work also depends on financing, partner support, licensed intellectual property, and United States and European regulatory processes.
