Profile

AMETEK, Inc.AMEIndustrials

Sells analytical, test and measurement instruments alongside precision-motion systems, medical components, thermal-management products, specialty metals and electrical interconnects. Revenue spans industrial, aerospace, defense and medical niches worldwide, while acquisition integration and new-product development underpin its decentralized growth model.

Designs and manufactures advanced instruments and engineered components through two groups. Electronic Instruments sells analytical, test and measurement systems for process, aerospace, medical, research, power and industrial markets, including metrology and aircraft sensors. Electromechanical supplies precision motion and automation products, medical components, thermal-management systems, specialty metals, electrical interconnects and aviation maintenance services.

Competes in specialized niches through differentiated engineering, new-product development and a decentralized operating model. Operations span North America, Europe, Asia and South America, with roughly half of revenue from outside the United States. Acquisitions are a core use of cash and broaden the portfolio, making integration an operating dependency. Demand also tracks customer capital spending, aerospace and defense budgets, export controls, and access to electronic components and certain metals.
