Profile

AdvanSix Inc.ASIXMaterials

Runs a vertically integrated production chain that converts petrochemical feedstocks into nylon-6 resin, chemical intermediates, and ammonium-sulfate fertilizer, selling largely within the United States. Separated from Honeywell's Resins and Chemicals unit in 2016, it ties agricultural and industrial demand together through shared Virginia plants that co-produce fertilizer and nylon precursors.

Runs a vertically integrated chain that turns petrochemical feedstocks into nylon-6 resin: Pennsylvania phenol and acetone production feeds a Virginia complex that makes caprolactam and co-produces ammonium-sulfate fertilizer, which feeds nylon-6 polymerization at a second Virginia plant. Three product lines result: nylon resin, chemical intermediates such as specialty amines, and ammonium-sulfate fertilizer.

Sales concentrate in the United States, spanning agriculture-linked fertilizer demand alongside industrial and consumer uses for its resins and intermediates; a bolt-on acquisition added alkyl and allyl amines production in Alabama and Virginia.

Caprolactam output sets ammonium-sulfate volumes, tying agricultural and nylon demand to the same plants. Separated from Honeywell in 2016, it now operates as a regulated chemical manufacturer carrying ongoing emissions-compliance obligations at its legacy Virginia site.
