Profile

Sierra BancorpBSRRFinancials

A California community bank built on commercial and residential real estate lending, with specialty units in mortgage-warehouse credit for mortgage originators and agricultural lending for Central Valley producers. Its branch network is concentrated in the South San Joaquin Valley, Central Coast, and Ventura County.

Runs Bank of the Sierra, a state-chartered community bank built on commercial and residential real estate lending, with two specialty units layered on top: a mortgage-warehouse line that extends short-term revolving credit to mortgage originators nationwide, and a dedicated agricultural credit center serving Central Valley dairy and permanent-crop growers.

Branches are concentrated in California's South San Joaquin Valley, with additional reach into the Central Coast and Ventura County, built up through a string of community-bank acquisitions since the early 2000s. Deposits fund most of the loan book, with a growing share held in low-cost, non-interest-bearing accounts.

Commercial real estate is the single largest concentration in the portfolio, and the mortgage-warehouse book expands and contracts with national mortgage-origination volume. Lending stays entirely within California, and both the holding company and the bank operate under state and federal banking regulation.
