Profile

BWX Technologies, Inc.BWXTIndustrials

Builds naval nuclear reactors, components and fuel through Government Operations, while Commercial Operations supplies reactor equipment, lifecycle services and medical isotopes. Most activity is anchored in U.S. government programs, with a substantial Canadian commercial-nuclear base and a smaller international footprint.

Builds precision naval nuclear components, reactors and fuel for the U.S. government, while Government Operations also processes special nuclear materials and supports high-consequence federal sites. Operations are concentrated in the United States, with a substantial Canadian commercial-nuclear base and a smaller international footprint.

Commercial Operations supplies commercial-reactor components and lifecycle services, CANDU fuel and refurbishment capabilities, medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals. Acquisitions have added isotope infrastructure, plant-life services, specialty-material fabrication and U.S. heavy manufacturing.

Execution depends on regulated nuclear safety systems, controlled materials handling and exacting manufacturing. The business is shaped by U.S. government contracts, nuclear licensing and program funding; its mPower reactor development was wound down after funding proved insufficient. The current nuclear-focused identity dates to the 2015 separation of the power-generation business.
