Cohen & Company Inc.COHNFinancials

Provides fixed-income sales and trading, investment banking and SPAC advisory, and insurance-credit and commercial-real-estate asset management. Revenue is concentrated in Capital Markets, combining transaction fees, trading results and financing income; its U.S. broker-dealer and European entity operate under separate financial-market regulators.

Operates through Capital Markets, Asset Management and Principal Investing. Capital Markets combines institutional fixed-income sales and trading, securities financing, and Cohen & Company Capital Markets, the boutique investment bank handling M&A, capital-markets and SPAC advisory work. Asset Management oversees insurance-credit, SPAC and commercial-real-estate vehicles, while Principal Investing holds securities and other positions for return.

Works principally in the United States, with European operations managed through a French-regulated subsidiary. Its U.S. broker-dealer serves corporate and institutional investors, mortgage originators and smaller broker-dealers across credit, mortgage and structured products. Revenue and earnings depend heavily on transaction activity and market conditions; risk-based trading, engagement-related securities and principal investments retain market, liquidity and valuation exposure.
