Profile
Provides advisory, underwriting, sales and trading, research, lending, and alternative asset management. Investment Banking and Capital Markets supplies most revenue, supported by a global platform whose workforce is split across the Americas, Europe and the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Combines advisory and underwriting with equities and fixed-income sales, trading, origination, and research through Investment Banking and Capital Markets. Jefferies Finance and Berkadia extend the platform into corporate lending and commercial real estate.
Runs Asset Management alongside the larger banking and markets segment, providing investment-management services and committing capital to funds, separately managed accounts, and third-party managers. Operations span the Americas, Europe and the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, with half of employees in the Americas.
Relies on transaction activity, underwriting markets, client trading volumes, inventory and counterparty risk management, and the performance of managed or affiliated investment vehicles. The SMBC alliance also expands lending collaboration and the planned Japanese equities platform, while legacy holdings and affiliate exposures can still affect consolidated results and litigation.
