Profile
Runs the DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo local-commerce marketplaces, earning transaction, delivery, service, membership, and advertising revenue from consumers and merchants. A Commerce Platform adds white-label fulfillment and merchant software, while marketplace revenue predominates and courier classification remains a regulatory dependency.
Operates the DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo marketplaces across more than 40 countries, connecting consumers with restaurants, grocers, and other local retailers. Revenue comes largely from merchant transaction fees and consumer delivery and service fees; DashPass, Wolt+, and Deliveroo Plus memberships and advertising add consumer and merchant revenue.
Extends beyond marketplace orders through the Commerce Platform, including Drive white-label fulfillment, digital ordering, branded apps, and SevenRooms reservations and guest-management software. The model combines demand generation, payments, logistics, and customer support, with the United States as its largest market.
Marketplaces generate the vast majority of revenue. Fulfillment depends heavily on couriers treated as independent contractors in most geographies, while co-founder and CEO Tony Xu holds concentrated voting control through the multi-class structure and a co-founder voting agreement.
