Profile

First Citizens BancShares, Inc.FCNCAFinancials

Serves consumers and businesses through General Bank, Commercial Bank and Rail, spanning relationship banking, national lending, innovation-economy finance and railcar leasing. Growth through CIT and Silicon Valley Bank created a coast-to-coast franchise whose scale depends on integration, liquidity, capital and risk controls under Holding-family voting control.

Provides consumer and business banking through General Bank, national commercial lending and specialized innovation-economy services through Commercial Bank, and railcar leasing through Rail. The franchise operates across the United States, combining branches with direct-bank funding and sector-focused client relationships.

Built from a North Carolina bank founded in 1898, the business expanded through interstate acquisitions, FDIC-assisted transactions, the CIT merger, and the Silicon Valley Bridge Bank acquisition. That history links current scale to an operating model centered on relationship banking, acquisition integration, and long-term continuity.

Rapid expansion has increased dependence on enterprise risk controls, capital, liquidity, systems integration, and supervisory readiness. A dual-class share structure gives the Holding family and related entities majority voting power, while the pending BMO branch purchase remains subject to approval and conversion work.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
