Profile

GATX CorporationGATXIndustrials

Leases railcars, locomotives, aircraft spare engines, and tank containers, earning primarily operating-lease revenue plus management and remarketing income. Rail dominates the portfolio across North America, Europe, and India, with the GABX fleet consolidated in Rail North America and Rolls-Royce partnerships supporting engine leasing.

Leases, manages, maintains, and remarkets long-lived transportation assets. Rail North America provides full-service railcar and locomotive leases across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, while Rail International leases railcars in Europe and India. Engine Leasing owns aircraft spare engines through GATX Engine Leasing and joint ventures with Rolls-Royce; Trifleet leases and manages tank containers worldwide.

The operating model pairs long lease terms with maintenance networks, customer service, asset sourcing, and remarketing. The GABX joint venture with Brookfield added the Wells Fargo railcar fleet and is consolidated within Rail North America; GATX also manages Brookfield’s separate finance-lease portfolio. Earnings depend on customer demand, lease rates and renewals, asset utilization, maintenance and safety compliance, access to capital, and Rolls-Royce relationships in engine leasing.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
