Profile

L.B. Foster CompanyFSTRIndustrials

Supplies rail products, friction-management and monitoring systems, precast concrete, and steel products through two segments. Sales lean toward rail markets, while infrastructure work is mostly domestic and tied to construction, project funding, and raw-material availability.

Runs two operating segments: Rail, Technologies, and Services, and Infrastructure Solutions. Rail includes rail products, global friction management, and technology services for freight, passenger, transit, and industrial customers.

Infrastructure Solutions supplies precast concrete products, precast buildings, bridge products, protective pipe coatings, water-well threaded products, and related steel products. Rail products and services are marketed across major industrial regions in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, while infrastructure products are primarily sold in the United States.

Originating in used-rail resale in 1902, the portfolio has expanded through acquisitions in rail technology, precast concrete, protective coatings, and digital rail systems, followed by exits from lower-priority lines. Demand depends on rail traffic, infrastructure-project funding, government budgets, project timing, and input costs for steel, cement, aggregates, electronics, and related materials.
