Profile

The Greenbrier Companies, Inc.GBXIndustrials

Builds freight railcars through a global manufacturing footprint and supports customers with repair, parts, leasing, and fleet-management services. Manufacturing remains the core business, while leasing and managed fleets add recurring exposure to North American railcar demand.

Manufacturing is the core segment, producing double-stack intermodal railcars, tank cars, freight railcars, automotive railcar products, and related components. The footprint spans the U.S., Mexico, Poland, and Romania, with North American offerings covering auto carriers, boxcars, hoppers, gondolas, flatcars, intermodal units, tank cars, and Sustainable Conversions.

Leasing & Fleet Management adds owned railcar leasing, fleet logistics, regulatory compliance, car-hire accounting, maintenance management, and remarketing services. The platform serves railroads, shippers, carriers, institutional investors, leasing companies, and other transportation customers.

Execution depends on railcar replacement cycles, freight demand, commodity flows, customer capital spending, and concentrated orders from large customers. Leasing and management services are used to balance the new railcar order cycle.
