Profile
Leases, manages, maintains, and manufactures freight and tank railcars for North American shippers, railroads, and lessors. The integrated platform earns lease and service income while supplying new cars, conversions, parts, logistics software, and fleet administration.
Provides railcar leasing and management, maintenance and modifications, logistics software, and new freight and tank railcars across North America. Railcar Leasing and Services Group earns operating-lease and fleet-management income, while Rail Products Group manufactures cars, conversions, parts, and components for outside customers and the leasing fleet.
Combines manufacturing with asset ownership and life-cycle service under TrinityRail, supported by RSI Logistics and Holden America. Most managed cars are owned directly; the rest are administered for investors, pairing operating-lease income with service fees. Operations span the United States and Mexico, with a minority leasing investment in India.
Fleet economics depend on utilization, lease renewals, and secondary-market sales; manufacturing depends heavily on steel, specialty components, and cross-border rail movements. Railcar design, maintenance, and hazardous-material transport remain subject to U.S., Canadian, Mexican, and industry standards.
