Profile

Group 1 Automotive, Inc.GPIConsumer Discretionary

Sells and leases new and used vehicles through franchised dealerships and a digital platform in the U.S. and U.K., while earning from wholesale, financing, insurance, parts, maintenance, and collision repair. The U.S. is the larger segment; manufacturer franchise agreements and inventory financing shape the model.

Retails new and used cars and light trucks through franchised dealerships and an omnichannel platform across the United States and United Kingdom. Revenue comes from vehicle sales and leases, used-vehicle wholesale, financing arrangements, service and insurance contracts, replacement parts, maintenance, and collision repair. U.S. and U.K. operations are the two reportable segments, with the U.S. accounting for most activity.

Uses local market clusters to share inventory, reconditioning, marketing, procurement, and staffing while keeping dealership accountability local. Parts and service provide a more stable complement to vehicle sales, supported by factory-trained technicians and digital scheduling and finance tools. Operations depend on nonexclusive manufacturer franchise agreements, vehicle supply, floorplan financing, and country-specific dealer, consumer-finance, privacy, and environmental rules.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
