Profile
Underwrites specialty property, casualty and related reinsurance through London, Dublin, Bermuda and US platforms, earning premiums and investment income. International insurance and Bermuda reinsurance contribute roughly even business volumes, while a material Two Sigma-managed fund allocation links earnings to both underwriting and investment performance.
Underwrites specialty insurance and reinsurance through three platforms spanning Bermuda, London, Dublin and the United States. Hamilton Global Specialty writes commercial specialty and casualty insurance plus specialty reinsurance through Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000 and an Irish carrier; Hamilton Select serves small and midsize US businesses with hard-to-place excess and surplus lines; Hamilton Re writes global property, casualty and specialty reinsurance alongside high-excess specialty insurance.
Uses proprietary underwriting and catastrophe tools to price risks and manage accumulations, while brokers supply access to commercial clients and cedants. The International segment contains Global Specialty and Select; the Bermuda segment is Hamilton Re, leaving premiums split roughly evenly between the two. Earnings and holding-company cash depend on claim severity and reserve estimates, catastrophe exposure, broker access, regulated subsidiary dividends, and returns from a material allocation to the Two Sigma-managed investment fund.
