Processes beef, poultry, pork, lamb and fish, and sells prepared foods through businesses including Pilgrim’s Pride and Seara. Related operations turn processing by-products into leather, biodiesel, collagen and other materials.
Operations span the Americas, Australia and Europe. A long acquisition program assembled the protein and brand portfolio, while a shared plant-management model and experience integrating complex international businesses support execution across locally rooted operations.
Scale depends on controls for food production, antitrust compliance, cyber resilience and cattle traceability. The group has faced bribery-related books-and-records findings, a poultry price-fixing conviction at Pilgrim’s Pride, a ransomware disruption and contested cattle-sourcing enforcement. Control remains with the Batista family under a Dutch holding company whose Class A shares began trading on the NYSE in 2025.
