Profile
Manufactures wrecker, car-carrier, and heavy-recovery truck bodies sold through independent distributors to towing operators, dealerships, auto auctions, and government buyers, with production spread across Tennessee, Pennsylvania, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. The single reportable segment traces to a decades-long strategy of acquiring and preserving legacy regional brands rather than building one unified nameplate.
Built in 1990 by acquiring three troubled legacy U.S. tow-truck brands — Holmes, Century, and Challenger — and rebuilding them under one roof, then extending the same strategy through Vulcan, Chevron, France's Jige, the U.K.'s Boniface, and, most recently, Italy's Omars.
The product line covers light- and heavy-duty wreckers, car carriers, top-end rotating recovery units, and transport trailers, plus hydraulic cylinders from an in-house subsidiary. Bodies mount on chassis built by outside manufacturers and reach buyers — towing operators, dealerships, auto auctions, and government agencies — through independent distributors.
Manufacturing spans Tennessee and Pennsylvania plants alongside sites in France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Reported as one towing-and-recovery segment, the business ships only as fast as third-party chassis supply allows.
