Profile
Builds TV operating systems, streaming players and Roku-branded televisions, then monetizes viewing and navigation through advertising and subscriptions. Advertising, Subscriptions and Devices form the business, with operations and monetization still anchored mainly in North America.
Runs a television operating system distributed through streaming players, partner-made smart TVs and Roku-built televisions. Devices expand household reach, while The Roku Channel and the surrounding interface create places to watch, discover and buy streaming services.
Advertising, Subscriptions and Devices are the three reportable business lines. Advertising includes video and interface placements; Subscriptions includes direct services, premium subscription sales and partner revenue shares. The device range also covers smart-home and audio products.
Most operations and monetization remain anchored in North America. Execution centers on broad device distribution and converting viewing and navigation into advertising and subscription activity. Hardware promotions can carry negative margins, while advertising depends on marketer budgets and content distribution on publisher and subscription-partner relationships. The agreed Fox acquisition remains subject to shareholder, regulatory and other closing conditions.
