Profile

First Financial CorporationTHFFFinancials

Operates as a single-segment bank holding company, gathering deposits and extending commercial, residential, and consumer loans through a branch network across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia, alongside trust and wealth-management services.

Runs one reportable segment, banking, through subsidiary First Financial Bank: deposit accounts, commercial and commercial-real-estate lending, residential mortgages, consumer and lease financing, plus trust, wealth-management, and insurance services.

Branches concentrate in Indiana, where the bank traces to 1834, and extend through Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia — grown from a single-market Indiana bank into a multi-state Midwest-to-Southeast lender.

Growth has come chain-style through community-bank acquisitions that added Kentucky and Tennessee, then Georgia and East Tennessee, each folded in while keeping local relationships and centralizing back-office functions. Leadership passed from father to son in 2024, continuing family stewardship.

As a bank holding company it answers to the Federal Reserve, while its national-bank subsidiary answers to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency; earnings depend on the deposit-loan rate spread and credit performance across its community-bank loan book.
