Profile
Gathers deposits and earns interest from commercial, real-estate, mortgage, and consumer lending through United Bank, with fees from treasury, trust, brokerage, asset-management, card, and mortgage services. Operates as one community-banking segment across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, with commercial and real-estate credit central to the portfolio.
Runs United Bank as a single community-banking segment, gathering consumer and commercial deposits and making commercial, real-estate, mortgage, and consumer loans. Other services include treasury management, credit cards, trust and investment services, financial planning, brokerage, asset management, and title insurance.
Serves Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets through branches and digital channels across Washington, D.C. and eight states. The Piedmont acquisition added greater Atlanta; separate mortgage businesses were consolidated into United Bank, and third-party origination ended.
Uses centralized underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and a one-bank structure across these markets. Revenue is driven chiefly by interest earned on loans and securities relative to deposit and funding costs, with fees from banking and investment services. Results depend on deposit pricing, interest-rate spreads, commercial and real-estate credit quality, and banking regulation.
