Profile

Virtu Financial, Inc.VIRTFinancials

Makes markets as principal across multiple asset classes and provides agency execution, analytics, and workflow technology to financial institutions. Operations span hundreds of venues in dozens of countries, while performance depends on trading activity, bid-ask spreads, market volatility, exchange and clearing access, and short-term liquidity.

Market Making provides liquidity as principal across cash, futures, and options markets in global equities, fixed income, currencies, cryptocurrencies, and commodities. Execution Services supplies agency trading, algorithms, liquidity-seeking tools, analytics, workflow technology, and trading venues to institutions and intermediaries.

Built around automated processes, risk controls, and trading infrastructure, the platform operates across hundreds of venues in dozens of countries. The KCG acquisition expanded the scaled liquidity franchise, while the ITG acquisition added agency execution and analytics.

Results are structurally tied to trading volume, bid-ask spreads, volatility, exchange and clearing access, and short-term liquidity. The combination of principal trading and customer execution also requires effective information barriers and operational controls.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
