Profile
Operates about 1,400 pet care centers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, selling pet food, supplies, and companion animals alongside grooming, training, and veterinary services. Revenue comes from in-store sales, services, digital channels, and owned brands; controlling private-equity sponsors hold the company through a dual-class share structure.
Pet food, supplies, and companion animals anchor the merchandise mix alongside owned brands like WholeHearted, Reddy, So Phresh, and Well & Good. Grooming, training, roughly 300 full-service veterinary hospitals, and about 1,600 weekly Vetco mobile clinics make Petco one of the largest U.S. veterinary providers.
About 1,382 pet care centers operate across the U.S. and Puerto Rico; roughly 150 more in Mexico and two in Chile run through joint ventures.
Physical stores connect to Petco.com, mobile apps, and repeat-delivery options, forming an omnichannel ecosystem the company calls its health and wellness platform.
CVC Capital Partners and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board hold controlling Class B shares, leaving Class A holders without governance majority. Long-term debt was refinanced in early 2026 with maturities pushed to 2031; management is unwinding parts of the 2018–2023 wellness-only pivot that lost value-oriented customers.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
