Profile

ArcBest CorporationARCBIndustrials

Moves less-than-truckload freight nationwide through ABF Freight and sells truckload brokerage, expedited shipping, managed transportation, forwarding, warehousing, and household moving through asset-light operations. The owned terminal network supplies assured capacity, while third-party carriers extend reach; labor and fixed network costs make LTL utilization central to results.

Moves less-than-truckload freight through ABF Freight’s terminal network and sells complementary logistics through an asset-light segment. MoLo sources truckload capacity from third-party carriers, Panther handles ground-expedite shipments, and managed transportation, intermodal, international forwarding, warehousing, U-Pack household moving, and Vaux freight-handling technology broaden the offering. Operations cover every U.S. state, with additional reach into Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and international air and ocean lanes.

Combines assured capacity from the owned LTL network with brokerage and managed services that require less equipment and real estate. The LTL network is infrastructure- and labor-intensive, with mostly fixed terminal costs; about four-fifths of Asset-Based employees work under the Teamsters agreement running through 2028. Freight volumes, market rates, fuel surcharges, and efficient use of labor and network capacity shape results.
