Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S. A.BLXFinancials

Finances Latin American and Caribbean trade through loans, structured and syndicated credit, letters of credit and guarantees for corporations and financial institutions. Lending spreads and transaction fees drive revenue, while Treasury manages market funding, deposits, liquidity and investments; the bank does not serve retail depositors.

Finances cross-border trade and related corporate activity across Latin America and the Caribbean for financial institutions and corporations. The Commercial Business segment originates bilateral loans, structured and syndicated credits, project and infrastructure finance, letters of credit and guarantees; it also offers factoring, vendor finance and financial leasing. Interest income from lending is supplemented by structuring, syndication and trade-service fees.

Treasury manages liquidity, the investment portfolio and funding drawn from regional central and commercial banks, international bank borrowings and debt markets. Regional underwriting and a correspondent-bank network connect clients with international capital markets. The franchise does not take retail deposits and remains exposed to regional trade flows, borrower credit, market funding conditions and Panamanian banking rules. Class A public-sector shareholders elect their own directors and hold approval rights over certain charter changes.
