Profile
Mines thermal coal for power generation and metallurgical coal for steelmaking across U.S. and Australian operations. Long-term domestic utility contracts coexist with export sales whose pricing tracks seaborne markets.
Mines and sells thermal coal for electricity generation and metallurgical coal for steelmaking through operations in the United States and Australia. Seaborne Thermal covers New South Wales mines, while Seaborne Metallurgical spans Queensland, New South Wales, and Alabama. Powder River Basin and Other U.S. Thermal supply domestic utilities from Wyoming and several other states.
Pairs high-volume U.S. thermal production, generally sold under long-term supply agreements, with export coal marketed through annual, multi-year, spot, and index arrangements. The operating model depends on matching coal quality to customer specifications and moving output through rail and port networks. Results remain tied to electricity and steel demand, seaborne pricing, mine safety and permitting, and reclamation obligations in both countries.
