Profile

Gold Fields LimitedGFIMaterials

Produces gold from mines across Australia, Africa and South America, with a Canadian development project. The portfolio combines mechanised operations with recently consolidated ownership of the Gruyere mine and Windfall project.

Produces gold through mines in Australia, Ghana, South Africa, Peru and Chile, alongside the Windfall development project in Canada. Named operations include South Deep, Gruyere and Salares Norte, with the portfolio spanning underground and open-pit settings.

Built its international base through mine acquisitions, then separated most legacy conventional South African assets into Sibanye while retaining South Deep. More recently, acquisitions converted the Gruyere mine and Windfall project from joint ventures into wholly owned assets.

Depends on safe mine execution and environmental compliance across several regulatory jurisdictions. Fatal incidents have prompted external safety reviews and operating controls, while Chilean regulators restricted work connected with protected chinchilla habitat at Salares Norte.
