Profile
Mines and processes gold across Africa, Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Americas, selling mostly refined gold while producing copper, silver, lead and zinc at selected sites. The portfolio combines managed mines with non-operated joint ventures, leaving results chiefly exposed to gold prices and partner execution.
Produces gold from open-pit and underground mines across Africa, Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Americas, with copper, silver, lead and zinc recovered at selected sites. Ore is processed into doré or concentrates, then refined or sold to smelters; gold supplies most sales.
Runs a core portfolio spanning Lihir, Cadia, Tanami, Boddington, Ahafo South, Ahafo North, Peñasquito, Brucejack, Red Chris, Cerro Negro, Merian and Yanacocha, plus non-operated interests in Nevada Gold Mines and Pueblo Viejo. The operating model combines large-scale mining, complex ore processing and development around established districts. Results depend primarily on gold prices, while ongoing production requires permits, land and water access, power, community agreements and host-government relationships. Barrick operates Nevada Gold Mines and Pueblo Viejo.
