Profile
Sells recycled OEM, remanufactured, refurbished, and aftermarket replacement parts plus specialty vehicle equipment to body shops, mechanical repair shops, and insurers routing collision claims to lower-cost alternatives, operating across North America and Europe. Built through roughly three hundred acquisitions since 1998, the business runs as a federation of locally branded operators under one parent.
Bumper covers, body panels, lighting, engines, transmissions, and paint supplies move through the wholesale network, sourced from salvaged vehicles, remanufacturing, and aftermarket suppliers instead of original-equipment makers; a Specialty line adds towing, marine, and recreational-vehicle accessories.
Operations split between North America and Europe, where country brands such as Euro Car Parts, Rhiag, and Stahlgruber keep their acquired names under an LKQ prefix rather than one global brand.
Growth has come through roughly three hundred acquisitions since the 1998 founding, each kept under local management and branding while scale negotiates distribution and vendor terms.
Demand depends partly on insurers routing claims to lower-cost alternatives. The paint-distribution business acquired with Uni-Select in 2023 is still under margin repair, and a securities class action was filed in 2026; Self Service was sold in 2025 and Specialty is under review for a possible sale.

Ownership
A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
