Profile

Texas Instruments IncorporatedTXNInformation Technology

Sells power-management and signal-chain chips, microcontrollers, processors, wireless-connectivity and radar devices to electronics makers worldwide. Industrial and automotive applications account for most sales, while mostly internal manufacturing supports supply control but adds fixed-cost exposure.

Designs and manufactures analog and embedded-processing semiconductors for industrial, automotive, data-center, personal-electronics and communications equipment worldwide. Analog—the Power and Signal Chain product lines—supplies power-management, amplifier, converter, interface, sensing and motor-control chips. Embedded Processing adds microcontrollers, processors, wireless-connectivity and radar devices; Other includes DLP products, calculators and custom chips.

Combines a broad catalog with direct customer channels and mostly internal wafer fabrication, assembly and test. Newer 300mm fabs in Texas and Utah are ramping to reduce unit costs and increase supply control. Industrial and automotive applications account for most sales, while factory ownership creates fixed-cost exposure to semiconductor demand cycles. The planned Silicon Labs acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval and closing conditions.
