Profile

3M CompanyMMMIndustrials

Sells abrasives, adhesives, safety gear, electronics and automotive materials, and consumer brands through three industrial-to-retail segments. Shared materials-science platforms and a global distribution network support the portfolio, while PFAS and Combat Arms settlements create long-dated payment obligations.

Supplies industrial, transportation, electronics and household markets through Safety and Industrial, Transportation and Electronics, and Consumer. Core offerings span abrasives, adhesives and tapes, personal protective equipment, electrical materials, automotive and aerospace components, display films, semiconductor and data-center materials, and brands including Post-it, Scotch, Command and Filtrete.

Combines materials science, product development and manufacturing across divisions, then sells directly and through distributors and retailers worldwide; the Americas are the largest region. Shared technology platforms support product development across the portfolio. Operations depend on global supply chains and compliance with product, trade, workplace and environmental rules. Long-dated PFAS public-water and Combat Arms earplug settlements require continuing cash payments, while other PFAS litigation and remediation remain unresolved.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
