NACCO Industries, Inc.NCEnergy

Runs U.S. natural-resources businesses across utility coal mining, contract mining, and mineral royalties. Revenue comes from adjacent power-plant fuel contracts, outsourced mining services for industrial-materials customers, royalty interests, and smaller mitigation and restoration work.

Utility Coal Mining manages surface coal mines that supply adjacent power-generation customers under exclusive, long-term fuel contracts. Contract Mining provides outsourced mining and related services for aggregates, activated carbon, lithium, and other industrial minerals.

Minerals and Royalties owns oil, gas, coal, and other mineral interests and earns mainly from third-party production. Mitigation Resources adds stream and wetland mitigation credits plus restoration services, but it is not a reportable segment.

Operations are concentrated in the United States, with contract mining sites centered in Florida and other projects tied to Arkansas, Nebraska, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida public works. Execution depends on long-term mine management, local permitting, reclamation, and customer-specific logistics.

Utility coal demand depends on customer power plants, while royalty income depends on third-party operators and commodity prices outside company control. Voting power remains concentrated with the extended founding family.
