Processes and cryogenically stores newborns' cord-blood and cord-tissue stem cells for family use, earning initial service and recurring storage revenue. The business is overwhelmingly family-use banking, supported by U.S. operations, Central American affiliates and long-duration specimen-custody obligations.
Processes and cryogenically stores umbilical-cord blood and cord-tissue stem cells for a newborn's family. Family clients pay for collection kits, testing, processing and initial storage, then annual fees or long-duration plans; international licensees contribute service revenue or royalties. It also sells the PrepaCyte-CB processing system and distributes units from its public cord-blood inventory through NMDP.
Operates U.S. processing, administration and marketing from Oldsmar, Florida, with most specimens stored in Durham, North Carolina, while affiliates serve Central America. AABB and FACT accreditations, cGMP/cGTP-compliant operations, and redundant cryogenic safeguards underpin the custody service, alongside a multi-compartment freezer bag.
Revenue is overwhelmingly tied to family-use banking and its long-term storage commitments. FDA registration and inspection, reliable equipment and data systems, collection-kit and processing suppliers, and NMDP's distribution of public units are continuing operating dependencies.
