Profile
Produces salt products for deicing, water treatment, nutrition, and industrial uses, alongside Protassium+ sulfate of potash for crop-input customers. Sales are concentrated in Salt, with Plant Nutrition now centered on Ogden after exits from South America, lithium, fire retardants, and Wynyard.
Operates through Salt and Plant Nutrition. Salt produces sodium chloride and magnesium chloride for highway deicing, consumer and professional deicing, water treatment, human and animal nutrition, chemical production, and industrial uses.
Plant Nutrition sells sulfate of potash in multiple grades under the Protassium+ name to crop-input distributors, retailers, growers, and industrial users. After the Wynyard sale, the current plant-nutrition focus points to the Ogden operation.
Operations are centered in North America, with salt also serving U.K. customers. Salt depends on winter weather, deicing orders, inventory levels, mine production, and pricing; Plant Nutrition depends on SOP output, agricultural demand, costs, and pricing.
Recent strategy has narrowed back to core Salt and Plant Nutrition after exits from South America, lithium, and fire retardants, with balance-sheet repair tied to asset sales and cash generation.
