Profile
Provides private mortgage insurance for U.S. home loans, mortgage-risk and selected property-and-casualty reinsurance, plus title insurance and settlement services. Mortgage insurance is the core business, supported by lender relationships and risk-based underwriting, with access tied to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac approval.
Provides private mortgage insurance on U.S. residential first-lien loans through Essent Guaranty, helping lenders sell low-down-payment mortgages into the secondary market. Essent Re reinsures mortgage credit risk, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit-risk-transfer programs, and has expanded into selected property-and-casualty risks through Lloyd’s. Essent Title Insurance and Boston National Title add title underwriting, agency and settlement services.
Execution rests on granular loan-level analytics, risk-adjusted pricing, automated approvals and relationships with mortgage originators. The mortgage insurer is licensed nationwide and must remain approved by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac under their capital and operating standards. Results depend on U.S. mortgage origination, borrower defaults and home prices, while the title platform tracks real-estate closings; insurance subsidiaries also operate under state and Bermuda regulation.

A 13F quarter can total more than the shares outstanding — sub-advisers file the same block twice, and a filer's own share count can be a quarter stale. No split is drawn from it.
