Profile

Genworth Financial, Inc.GNWFinancials

Writes U.S. private mortgage insurance through majority-owned Enact, services closed blocks of legacy long-term-care, life, and annuity policies, and sells aging-care services and new long-term-care coverage through CareScout. Earnings combine insurance premiums and investment income, while results remain shaped by mortgage-credit conditions and long-duration policy obligations.

Operates through Enact and Closed Block as reported segments, with newer CareScout businesses housed in Corporate and Other. Enact, a majority-owned public subsidiary, writes private mortgage insurance for predominantly prime U.S. residential loans. Closed Block services in-force long-term-care, life-insurance, and annuity policies that its legacy insurers no longer sell.

Expanded CareScout services nationwide around aging-care navigation: the CareScout Quality Network connects families with credentialed home-care and senior-living providers, Care Plans offer nurse-led guidance, and Care Assurance supplies newly issued long-term-care insurance. The Seniorly acquisition expanded access to senior-living communities.

Earns premiums and investment income while managing long-duration policy obligations. Enact depends on U.S. housing and mortgage-credit conditions and eligibility under government-sponsored enterprise standards; Closed Block outcomes depend on claims experience, reserve assumptions, approved rate increases, and state insurance regulation.
