Smith Micro Software, Inc.SMSIInformation Technology

Sells white-label family-safety and visual-voicemail software to mobile-network and cable operators, which brand and distribute the services to subscribers. Revenue depends on a small group of carrier customers and the ongoing deployment of their value-added services.

Delivers two carrier-branded software platforms: SafePath for family safety and CommSuite for visual voice messaging. Mobile-network and cable operators brand, distribute, and monetize the services for their own subscribers, generating mainly usage-based and license-and-service revenue.

SafePath combines parental controls, location tracking, screen-time management, content filtering, home-network protection, and phone experiences for children and older adults. Its SDK and API allow providers to embed these capabilities in their own apps; CommSuite supplies visual voicemail, premium messaging, and voice-to-text.

Serves a small set of large operators, with revenue concentrated in the Americas and among its largest customers. Service delivery depends on carrier promotion, external operating systems and app-store approvals, and cloud and data-center infrastructure.
