Profile

Ascent Industries Co.ACNTMaterials

Produces surfactants, defoamers, lubricating agents, flame retardants, intermediates, and custom and toll manufacturing services. After selling its tubular-products assets, the business is a U.S.-based specialty-chemicals platform with customer and supplier concentration.

Develops and manufactures specialty-chemical formulations, intermediates, and process aids for oil and gas, household and industrial uses, personal care, coatings, pulp and paper, textiles, water treatment, construction, and related markets. Product lines include surfactants, defoamers, lubricating agents, flame retardants, chemical intermediates, and packaging-coatings formulations.

Provides custom manufacturing, toll processing, product development, process optimization, scale-up, and commercial production. Operations use customer-dedicated assets and multi-purpose systems for blending, complex reaction chemistry, and multi-step processing, with production centered in Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Formerly paired specialty chemicals with tubular products, then sold the remaining tubular assets and now reports one Specialty Chemicals segment. The business depends on concentrated customer relationships, raw-material supply, and a partly union-represented workforce.
