Overview
Rosenblatt's Global Tech research group covers semiconductors, software, internet and digital media, communications and cloud infrastructure, and fintech and digital assets; most of its analysts come from industry roles. TipRanks ranked the firm in its top 20 for stock picking against the S&P 500 over the 24 months to December 2025. The firm has long described itself as a pure agent: in 2012 congressional testimony, Joe Gawronski, then its president, said it did no proprietary or principal trading and ran no exchanges or dark pools.
Richard Rosenblatt founded the firm in 1979 as Richard A. Rosenblatt & Co., a $2 floor broker on the NYSE handling overflow orders for other brokers. After the 1987 crash it turned to buy-side clients, offering direct electronic access to the NYSE and agency trading in Nasdaq stocks. Joe Gawronski, who joined in 2002 and started its market-structure practice, succeeded Rosenblatt as chief executive in 2022, with the founder remaining chairman.
