Profile

Steel Dynamics, Inc.STLDMaterials

Produces flat-rolled and long steel in electric-arc furnaces, processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap, and fabricates joists and deck for non-residential construction. A ramping aluminum platform extends the recycled-input model into beverage, automotive, and industrial sheet.

Produces flat-rolled sheet, structural sections, rail, engineered bar, merchant bar, and rebar through electric-arc-furnace steel mills, then adds coating, processing, threaded rod, and other downstream services. OmniSource recycles and brokers ferrous and nonferrous scrap, while New Millennium Building Systems fabricates joists, girders, and deck for non-residential construction. Aluminum Dynamics is ramping recycled-content flat-rolled aluminum for beverage, automotive, and industrial markets.

Operations span the United States and Mexico. The circular manufacturing model links scrap collection to steel and aluminum mills and sends steel into company-owned processing and fabrication businesses, supporting raw-material access and internal demand. Results remain exposed to cyclical metal pricing, scrap and energy availability, imports, construction and manufacturing demand, environmental permits, and the aluminum platform's production ramp and concentrated customer base.
